Surveys targeting <i>Salmonella</i> in the food supply of GCC countries have been infrequent. While qualitative data indicated the presence or absence of <i>Salmonella</i>, there was a noticeable lack of quantitative data detailing the actual quantities of these bacteria in chicken meat supplies across GCC countries. Although reports regarding <i>Salmonella</i> in animal-derived foods were common, the literature highlighted in this review emphasized the persistent challenge that <i>Salmonella</i> pose to food safety and public health in GCC countries.
