The findings confirmed that confidence in food producers and the government has a positive influence on consumer perceptions of food safety. Additionally, knowledge, pro-environmental behavior, perceived health benefits, and food safety positively impact consumers’ intentions to purchase traceable products. Most food traceability studies have predominantly focused on developed countries. This study seeks to expand existing knowledge and contribute to formulating more informed and adapted strategies, offering comprehension for more effective traceability practices in developing markets. It also makes a significant contribution to the fields of food safety and consumer behavior by empirically examining the relationships among consumer confidence, government perceptions, environmental concerns, health perceptions, food safety, and purchase intentions. It publishes original research, critical reviews, and short communications in sensory and consumer science, and sensometrics. These are aimed at bridging the gap between research and application, bringing together authors and readers in consumer and market research, sensory science, sensometrics and sensory evaluation, nutrition and food choice, as well as food research, product development and sensory quality assurance. Submissions to Food Quality and Preference are limited to papers that include some form of human measurement; papers that are limited to physical/chemical measures or the routine application of sensory, consumer or econometric analysis will not be considered unless they specifically make a novel scientific contribution in line with the journal''s coverage as outlined below.
