The nitrided layer was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The impact of the nitrided layer on the corrosion and wear resistance of 2205DSS was evaluated through electrochemical polarization tests and pin-on-disc wear experiments.
