The structural organization of multicomponent terms of the interdisciplinary discourse of English-language dental implantology

The purpose of the study is to identify the features of the structural organization of multicomponent terms in the interdisciplinary discourse of English language dental implantology. The article considers the main structural and semantic models of multicomponent terms fixed in various types of English language discourse of dental implantology. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the mechanisms of formation of multicomponent terms in the field of English-speaking dental implantology were studied and their main structural models were identified. As a result of the study, it was found that the syntactic method of term formation is prevalent. The number of multicomponent terms significantly exceeds the number of single-component terms and makes up the majority (about 2/3, or 74.6%) of the studied terms. Multicomponent terms demonstrate various combinations, while substantive, attributive and object phrases prevail, both simple and combined. From the point of view of the structure of multicomponent terms, two-component (59.4%) and three-component (11.9%) terminological units prevail. In terms of semantic structure, single-core terms with a periphery dominate over single-core terms.
