A new species of the genus Valvata (Gastropoda: Valvatidae) from Lake Lugu, southern China

Based on specimens collected from Lake Lugu in Yanyuan County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China, we have described a new species of the genus Valvata, Valvata succinea sp. nov. Prior to this, no extant species of Valvatidae family endemic to China have been discovered.
