Analysis of IR spectroscopic data shows that the anthracite with the largest vitrinite reflection coefficient (the Listvyansky sample) has the greatest aromatic parameters (<i>f</i><sub>a</sub>, <i>AR</i>1, and <i>AR</i>2). Its organic mass contains shorter and more branched aliphatic side chains, as confirmed by the low CH<sub>2</sub>/CH<sub>3</sub> ratio.
