This article summarizes some of the work that my research group carried out, inspired by Prof. Greene but not in direct collaboration with him. Three examples of these efforts are provided, epitaxial growth of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) on GaAs by sputter deposition, synthesis of Cu-Mo metastable alloys by sputter deposition, and recrystallization of CIGS deposited at high rates by treatment with metal halides.
