Resumo: O presente artigo tem por objetivo abordar a lírica de Carlos Drummond de Andrade sob o paradoxo da solidão multitudinária nas grandes cidades, perspectivando-a sob o viés conceitual do “sentimento do mundo” a partir da interface entre três elementos: a cidade, o elefante e a flor. Trata-se de uma poesia forjada pela dicção reflexiva e pela alteridade, em que a negatividade de sua lírica deflagra, em meio à barbárie do mundo civilizado, a ruptura com o real e sua reinvenção, sugestionando-o por meio de imagens que se inscrevem através da tensão entre o imaginário urbano e a experiência do poético.Palavras-chave: Carlos Drummond de Andrade; poesia; solidão multitudinária; a cidade, o elefante e a flor.Abstract: This article aims to approach the lyric of Carlos Drummond de Andrade under the paradox of multitudinary solitude in large cities, looking at it under the conceptual bias of the “feeling of the world” from the interface between three elements: the city, the elephant and the flower. It is a poetry forged by reflexive diction and otherness, in which the negativity of its lyric triggers, in the midst of the barbarism of the civilized world, the rupture with the real and its reinvention, suggesting it through images that are inscribed through the tension between the urban imaginary and the poetic experience.Keywords: Carlos Drummond de Andrade; poetry; multitudinarian loneliness; the city, the elephant and the flower.
