قضية الشيخ جراح في سياق المقاومة الفلسطينية ضد الاحتلال الإسرائيلي: تغيير قواعد اللعبة

The dynamics of the Palestinian issue have been characterized by the preservation of paradigm of the settler colonialism in which the state of has been exercising injust policies against the Palestinians. The Jewish state, which has not yet declared its borders yet, aims to expand the settlement construction at the expense of the Palestinians whom have been perceived as a demographic threat. While the “Nakba” in 1948 has been associated with the dispossession of more than half a million of Palestinians, it can be hardly said that it is confined to that year. The decision of the Israeli authorities to expel the Palestinians of the Sheik Jarrah neighborhood from the homes they stayed in for decades revived the notion of the never-ending Nakba. This paper attempts to answer the question of how did the issue of the potential dispossession of the Sheik Jarrah neighborhood impact the dynamics of the Palestinian issue through sheding the light on the developments of the Sheik Jarrah case including its origins, the Israeli ethnic cleansing policies, the Palestinians’ steadfastness and the international formal and informal responses.
