Using global positioning systems (GPS) telemetry data, we determined: (i) the dominant vegetation types used by African savannah elephants and (ii) the differences in the area occupied by dominant vegetation types in Gonarezhou National Park (GNP) in Zimbabwe. Significant spatiotemporal differences (<i>p</i> < 0.05) detected in vegetation types utilised by the African savannah elephant, and in the area covered by vegetation types induced a determinate foraging pattern.
