Carrageenan granuloma induced subcutaneously in guinea pigs has been widely used in connective tissue studies. Carrageenan is also commonly used as an excellent phylogistic agent for inducing experimental edema. In the present investigation carrageenan granuloma produced on the dorsum of guinea was compared with the inflammatory reaction produced in the cheek.
