[Epidemiologic study of dental and dentoalveolar discrepancies in orthognathic children].
The type and the sequence of dental and dentoalveolar discrepancies accompanying Class I were investigated in this study in a sample of 8.018 children with dental and dentoalveolar discrepancies was found to be significant reaching the 43.8%. Orthodontic treatment is essential in a 20.2% of the cases. The most commonly observed discrepancies were found to be the posterior crossbite and the crowding of the teeth with the canines being usually buccally displaced.
