Our short but productive expedition gave three post-doctoral researchers the opportunity to follow a research hypothesis from conception through planning and data collection aboard the research vessel, as well as plan and lead a research expedition. At the Ingøydjupet and Håkon Mosby Mud Volcano study areas, our objectives were to collect cores for geochemical analyses of the area and bathymetry data for geophysical analyses while the objectives at the sand waves are were to collect a time-lapse multibeam survey and grab samples for sedimentological analysis
