However, potential adverse effects are also associated with the subcellular size of the pharmaceutical form, and although research is being conducted with countless excipients and types of nanoparticles, only a small proportion of them have made it into clinical practice. This brief overview discusses these classes, it presents the basic characteristics, classification, and possible clinical use.
