Pandemi global COVID-19 telah memicu inovasi sistem IoT untuk menjawab kebutuhan informasi medis dan kesehatan yang akurat, terintegrasi, cepat dan mudah diakses seperti memantau tanda-tanda vital seseorang, terutama suhu tubuh dan detak jantung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang alat berbasis IoT yang berfungsi untuk memantau kedua tanda vital dengan mengintegrasikan modul-modul mikrokontroler NodeMCU ESP8266 dan GSM SIM900A. Suhu tubuh diukur menggunakan sensor suhu DS18B20, sedangkan detak jantung menggunakan sensor denyut nadi SEN-11574. Konektivitas Wi-Fi memastikan transmisi data sensor ke aplikasi Telegram dan sistem Short Message Service (SMS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterbacaan node sensor pada parameter, transferabilitas data ke platform ThingSpeak dan kemampuan sistem IoT untuk mengaktifkan peringatan pemberitahuan melalui teks SMS dan obrolan Telegram jika orang yang dipantau memiliki nilai suhu tubuh abnormal dan/atau detak jantung di bawah 60 denyut per menit (bpm) atau di atas 100. Internet of Things (IoT) enables communication and interoperation of various electronic devices and computers and sharing data to the internet as in the smart healthcare concept. The global pandemic COVID-19 has sparked IoT system innovation to meet the needs for accurate, integrated, quick, and accessible medical and healthcare information such as monitoring a person’s vital signs, especially body temperature and heart rate. This research was aimed to design an IoT-based device to monitor body temperature and heart rate using microcontroller modules NodeMCU ESP8266 and GSM SIM900A. The body temperature was measured using temperature sensor DS18B20, while the heart rate using a pulse sensor SEN-11574. The Wi-Fi connectivity ensured transmission of sensor data to Telegram application and Short Message Service (SMS) system.
