Rising sea levels, increasing energy demand and the explosion in energy prices have created new focal points in the thinking of all spheres of economic life. All these environmental factors require a new and fresh approach to future sustainability. New solutions to energy supply are needed and solutions to sea-level rise must be sought. In this article, we undertake to examine in detail the Maldives floating city and the European energy island project from a user's perspective, specifically in terms of its progress and exemplary value.
