Superconducting cables can be one of the effective solutions to these problems. MATLAB simulation models were developed to analyze DC railway feeding systems and to obtain their characteristics such as voltages, currents, power loads, and energy consumption. Two different model lines of DC feeding systems were used to investigate how the superconducting cables are to be introduced into the feeding systems for effective reduction of the substation power loads.
