Complete system having quad-copter with camera resolution of 1080p, IR temperature sensor, humidity sensor and WiFi supported micro controller. Quad copter captures images of insulators and installed sensors take reading of the system. This system keep the record of all images taken along with GPS that provide ease to distribution company while locating faults on insulators. A GUI is created in MATLAB that is used for analyzing images through different image processing techniques. It monitors the condition of insulator by using the algorithm of canny filter and sober filter and create histogram of each image. Standard deviation and Mean value are also used to analyze the health of insulator.
