Increasing the number of transmit and receive antennas results in higher hardware costs and computational burden. For systems with a large number of antennas, there is strong motivation to develop techniques with reduced hardware and computational costs. In this paper, we propose an efficient transmit-receive antenna selection algorithm for MIMO wireless systems. Our algorithm achieves the more near ergodic capacity as the optimal selection technique than existing nearly optimal antenna selection schemes.
