This paper explains how to make high performance WSN nodes by incorporating Digital Signal Processing (DSP) chip with the WSN node and how to implement suitable speech processing algorithm on it. The bottle neck arisen due to usage of DSP chip on WSN node is high power consumption. The techniques which are adopted to reduce the power consumption of DSP chip are described in this paper.
