Fractura de estrés del cuello del fémur. A propósito de un caso.

A fatigue fracture, also known as a stress fracture of the femoral neck, is an uncommon type of fracture that happens when a patient engages in strenuous physical activity or overuse. This case involves a 31-year-old woman who consults the hospital on several occasions with creeping pain in her groin and inner thigh. Following normal X-rays and the absence of clinical improvement, an MRI and a fresh X-ray were conducted, revealing a loss of continuity of the cortical bone of the femur's neck, which was classified as a stress fracture. The most common consequence of this type of fracture is femoral head necrosis due to delayed diagnosis. As a result, it's critical to get a diagnosis as soon as possible.
