The designed channel drop filter comprises three regions of ring resonator, in which region1 (having refractive index 3.255), region2 (having refractive index 3.32), and region 3 (having refractive index 3.47) are made up of circular Si rods that can be used to drop three channels centered at 1471 nm, 1491 nm and 1511 nm. Using 2D Finite Difference Time Domain (2D FDTD) method, the properties of the filter such as coupling, resonant wavelength are theoretically investigated.
