Rain Attenuation Analysis of Ka Band Ship-borne Satellite Communication Station In Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean
Satellite communication in Ka band has the advantages of large communication capacity, which can effectively meet the large needs of shore-ship communication of ocean-going vessels. For the marine environment with changeable weather, the rain attenuation of such high-frequency communication can’t be ignored. Based on the rainfall attenuation prediction model of international radio union (ITU-R), aiming at the actual situation of different climate regions in the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean, this paper analyzes the rain attenuation under different electromagnetic wave polarization modes and different working frequencies with antenna tracking elevation by MATLAB simulations. It provides a reference for the vessels’ communication in the corresponding climate regions.
