As wireless communication has advanced, the same development has been seen in antenna designs as well. The requirement for large bandwidth, high gain, multi-band antenna, and miniaturization of antenna size is increased. Metamaterials can be used to increase the performance of antennas either by enhancing parameters such as bandwidth or power gain or by creating compact, multi-frequency band antennas.
