On this background, this paper outlines and develops the general elements as well as the current stages of research in the field of Ultrafiltration (UF) Membrane technology applied to various industrial sectors. The parameters and their influence on the efficiency of the UF process, the fundamental characteristics of the materials as well as various solutions for the improvement and maintenance of the membrane materials were also reviewed.
