Both frequency and azimuth characteristics are discussed. On the other hand, effect of radar absorbing material (RAM) is verified. Based on all these experiments, a compact range (CR) plane scanning frame (PSF) system, which physical size is about 7.1 m high and 3 m wide, is designed and manufactured. The estimation of its radar cross section (RCS) is by one-dimensional (1-D) down-range imaging method. 1-D images prove that its RCS is less than 0 dBsm (1 m/sup 2/.
