The study deals with the economic aspects of the functioning of the forest property in Szeklerland, mainly the public landholdings, based on the analysis of the available official statistical indicators: (a.) timber production, timber export, (b.) economic revenues, (c.) economic role, (d.) EU subsidies, (e.) profitability. The introductory part of the study (socio-historical context and organisational framework) outlines the elements of context necessary for understanding the topic.
