Among others, the study aimed at identifying\nthe nature and types of IK being used by the rural women, the extent of use as well as the\ndomains of use. It equally aimed at finding out how the rural women's use of IK has\npositively affected sustainable development in Ogun State. The survey research design\nwas adopted. The targeted population comprised rural women in Odeda local government\narea of Ogun State. A purposive sample of 250 respondents was selected. Data was\ncollected with an interviewer-administered structured questionnaire and analyses were\ncarried out using frequencies and percentage distributions. Findings revealed that the\nmajority of the rural women were farmers and illiterates but have vast knowledge of\ntraditional medicine. There was an extensive use of oral IK in various domains: culture\ntransfer and preservation, food security, saving and lending money, population control,\nchildcare, etc but its greatest impact was in the area of food production. 摘要
本文基于一项调查农村妇女在奥贡州发展过程中使用土著知识(IK)情况的研究。除其他外,该研究旨在确定农村妇女使用的知识的性质和类型,使用的程度以及使用的领域。它同样旨在查明农村妇女使用本土知识如何对奥贡州的可持续发展产生积极影响。采用调查研究设计。目标人口包括奥贡州奥代达地方政府地区的农村妇女。有目的的250名受访者被选中。数据通过访谈者管理的结构化问卷收集,并使用频率和百分比分布进行分析。调查结果显示,大多数农村妇女是农民和文盲,但具有丰富的传统医学知识。口述本土知识在文化转移和保存、粮食安全、储蓄和贷款、人口控制、儿童保育等各个领域都有广泛的应用,但其最大的影响是在粮食生产领域。关键词:农村妇女,可持续发展,本土知识。《印染》Vol. 7 (1) 2008: pp. 47-63
