Employee Sycophancy-Can It Be Perceived As The Next Management Issue?
Organizations make efforts to foster a healthy environment through employee cooperation and participation. Sycophancy comes naturally as a perceived behavior from the employees who want to climb up the ladder of success in a short time. When an employee finds himself caught in the rat race of succeeding and surpassing others at work, political behavior becomes inevitable. This papers seeks to study the prevalence of employee sycophancy in the workplace while simultaneously examining the various behavioral and political aspects that causes sycophancy. The article cites reasons as to why employee sycophancy needs to be curbed for a better organizational flow.
