The size and power constraints of sensor nodes are the main concerns in the design of robust and efficient routing protocols. Consequently, various approaches, such as data-centric approach, hierarchical approach and location-based approach, are available. Each may be designed for a particular application with specific requirements. In this paper, we design and implement a data-centric routing protocol for WSNs, namely Centralized Sensor Protocol for Information via Negotiation (CSPIN), which combines the advertise-request-transfer process and a routing distribution mechanism.
