This method applies a chirp signal to a multilevel inverter as a transmitter. The search head receives the resulting waveform and detects the metal. This method is suitable for detecting metal substances such as military mines in short depths beneath the ground. The proposed approach is simulated in COMSOL and MATLAB software environment and is compared with the simulation and experimental results of the existing metal detector methods. The results show that 17% is increased in the detection depth compared to available methods with the proposed method.
