The sintering mechanism of LiTaO/sub 3/ ceramics at low temperatures in the presence of LiF and MgF/sub 2/ is reported. The sintering temperatures were decreased by 300 degrees C for LiNbO/sub 3/ and 500 degrees C for LiTaO/sub 3/.
