随着宽带网络的普及,视频通信日益普及。实现这种通信对于部署IPv6非常重要。然而,几乎所有的商用视频会议系统都不能在IPv6网络下工作。我们开发了一个名为“PTGATE”的应用网关来扩展可用的视频会议场景。PTGATE有三个功能:IPv4 over IPv6隧道,使用IPv4的视频会议系统;单播网络上的组播隧道;使用FEC进行错误恢复。通过PTGATE,现有的视频会议资源可以对应不同的网络环境。本文介绍了PTGATE的概况及其评价。最后给出了PTGATE在实际网络中的实际实验
