Spatially-resolved diagnosis of power cables in field environment: challenges and opportunities
- In this paper, the challenges for building up a prototype system for spatially-resolved diagnosis of power cables will be presented and the measurement method itself will be briefly described. In the case of application in field environment, several optimizations and first field measurements had to be performed with the goal of receiving boundary conditions for the field application, which will be specified in this article. The main part of the paper will be focused on a presentation of field measurement results of medium voltage power cables within challenges of multiple reflections and impedance matching. Furthermore, opportunities and solution approaches for reference simulation and measurements in field environment will be discussed.
