It is essential to use channel coding in baseband signal in order to reduce the error of the received signal. In this study, convolutional code (CC) is selected to be the type of channel coding and Viterbi decoder for decoding method. The parameters that have been analyzed in the research are constraint length, modulation techniques and decoding decision. The baseband modem with channel coding is simulated in Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and the performances of each parameter are compared in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) with theoretical values. Results from the simulation of the proposed baseband modem are in line with the theoretical results.
