Approximate analysis of transient heat conduction in an induction motor during plugging
A two-dimensional finite element solution of the heat conduction problem is described. The shape functions and exact solution matrices are derived algebraically for utmost economy in computation. The method of application to the transient heat flow problem in the stator of an induction motor during plugging condition is indicated.
