Combination of non-linear filters in time and frequency domain
Classical non-linear filters (median, myriad, L-filters) are commonly used forfiltering of lowpass data embedded in impulse and mixed Gaussian and impulse noise environments. However, recently some techniques have been proposed that can be useful for filtering highpass signals embedded in a heavy tailed noise. These techniques include: myriad and median filters admitting negative weights proposed by Arce et al, and robustfilters designed in frequency domain proposed by Djurovi´ c and Stankovi´ c. If weassume that a signal has both lowpass and highpass regions, some combination between techniques designed for lowpass data and techniques designed for highpass data would be useful. In this paper we investigate possibility to combine these two kinds of non-linear filters in order to perform successive denoising of signals with both low and high frequency content.
