PECS adopts innovative methods to solve the major problems connected to the time-domain simulation of switching converters: the formulation of circuit equations; the calculation of switching instants; and the determination of switches' configuration after forced commutations. PECS is best suited for quick preliminary circuit analysis during converters design.
