About 90.3% of nurses reported to have experienced on sharps injuries and about 32.9% of nurses occurred 1 to 3 times sharps injuries by opening the glass ampoules during nearly half of the year. Thus, the purpose of this study was to develop the new tool and ergonomic evaluation for opening ampoules. Results of ergonomic evaluated showed that the forearm muscle activities were significant lower while applied the ampoule opener. The new ampoule opener can avoid painful and dangerous sharps injuries. In clinical effectiveness will be further assessed.
