Research on Fault Location Method Based on Wide Area Information
With the expansion of the scale of the power grid and the complexity of the system structure, the traditional backup protection has defects such as complicated setting and triggering chain trips. Based on the wide-area information, this paper proposes a backup protection algorithm based on a centralized structure. After the protection sub-station is started, the voltage and current information of the station is actively transmitted to the protection center, and the protection center determines the fault area according to the three-sequence voltage sequencing situation. The longitudinal difference principle is used to locate the fault in the fault area. This algorithm uses less information, which is beneficial to reduce the amount of communication, and can quickly locate single fault and multiple faults on buses and lines. The simulation results verify the effectiveness and correctness of the algorithm.
