Mediation as a Tool for Organizational Conflict Management
The concept of conflict in organizations does not express a completely negative phenomenon that needs to be eliminated, on the contrary, it is considered as a manageable process. This point of view is a natural result of the understanding that conflicts remaining at a certain level also have positive effects on the organization. In line with the stated understanding, in this study, an answer will be sought to the question of whether mediation can be defined as a conflict management style. Conflict management styles based on this research consist of integrating, dominating, compromising, avoiding and reconciling. Research suggests that in the mediation process, which focuses on conflict management, the mediator will play the role of helping the conflict parties choose the most appropriate conflict management strategy for the current situation. This will bring the mediator, who focuses on conflict management, to look at the process from the relational dimension.
