Economic and Technical Feasibility of Solar System at Effat University
PV system feasibility, design, and commissioning involves a methodical, geography specific, analytical process that must cover policy research, consumption and utility rate analysis, resource assessment studies and detailed engineering design. The research paper attempts to address all these parameters using a case study approach with a location at Effat University, Jeddah. The location has an estimated solar capacity of 1.06 MW. A detailed regulatory, economic and engineering analysis has been performed to highlight key areas of focus during large scale, grid-connected PV deployment in Saudi Arabia. The results have been summarized for the benefit of all stakeholders including asset owners, solar developers and financial institutions.
