Today we can state that the necessary regulatory and legal framework has been created. The next step is to analyze and, possibly, revise the role and place of the established scientific and technical disciplines for the implementation of the strategy. The article analyzes this role in relation to one of the oldest scientific and technical disciplines – land management. The historical stages of the formation of the discipline and its place at the present stage in urban planning are considered in this paper. Using specific examples, the article shows that strict adherence to the principles of urban planning is not always able to ensure the sustainable development of territories in accordance with the Strategy 2050. Hence, the importance of land management based on new principles taking into account ESG factors is increasing. Such a new direction is designated by the authors as a “carbon land management”. 摘要
