Policies and strategies for renewable energy development in Indonesia
Indonesia has an optimistic target to develop renewable energy. Currently, Indonesia's energy consumption is still dominated by fossil fuels. The share of oil, natural gas, and coal is still more than 90% in the primary energy mix consumption. With a large potency of hydro, geothermal, and bioenergy; the target for new and renewable energy in primary energy mix is 31% in 2050. This policy should be implemented by coordinated planning and strategies, both in the national level and regional level. The aim of this paper is to convey the policies and strategies for renewable energy development in Indonesia.
