The series resonant tanks are energized alternately by controlling two IGBT switches with pulse frequency modulation (PFM). This topology is operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) with all IGBT switches are operating in zero current switching (ZCS) condition and hence no switching loss occurs. Moreover, this topology has low conduction loss as it requires only half number of IGBT switches compared to conventional full-bridge inverter based SRC.
