Evidence-based interventions,including education about nutrition and physicalactivity, are effective in reducing the prevalence ofchildhood obesity. Other countries have implementedpolicies to regulate unhealthy food marketing tochildren, which can serve as models for the US. Theamount of money spent on advertising sugary drinksand unhealthy foods to children is staggering, andadvertising restrictions could reduce childhood obesityrates.
