A task is formulated to optimize the economic costs of the considered microgrid without using an EMS. The respective task is solved on a specific example. Then an EMS is introduced in the microgrid, the correspondent model is modified, and a new task is solved. New energy schedules are calculated, providing higher energy efficiency for the microgrid. The Matlab environment is used to run a standard solver. A significant improvement in the cost outcomes is achieved due to the EMS operation activity. It is an illustration of the importance of EMS effect in microgrid applications.
