The Effect of Authentic Leadership on Job Satisfaction: Moderating Effect of Leader Trust
As the authenticity of leaders becomes more important in organizations, interest in authentic leadership is increasing. In this study, the moderating effect of leader trust was verified in the relationship between authentic leadership and job satisfaction. As a research method, 360 questionnaires were statistically analyzed using the regression analysis method targeting employees in corporate organizations.
Looking at the results of hypothesis testing in this study, first, authentic leadership had a positive (+) effect on job satisfaction. Second, leader trust was found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between authentic leadership and job satisfaction.
The significance of this study is that it expanded the research on authentic leadership by demonstrating the moderating effect of leader trust as a variable that controls the influence of authentic leadership in the process of influencing job satisfaction. As a follow-up study, it is necessary to examine the influence relationship between authentic leadership and performance variables by subdividing trust in leader and it is suggested that a study is needed to see if there is a moderating effect of leader trust at the group level.
