Michel de Certeau : critique et pratique de la littérature

Michel de Certeau: critique and practice of literarure. Literature is not central to the work of Michel de Certeau. On the contrary, it is often the object of a critique, even of a scalding irony. Is his use of literature merely that of a historian? Poetic fragments are insistantly present in his work however. Throughout his work, by means of theoretical criticism and of his use of quotes, he builds two paradigms for literature: one based on propriety and property (Robinson Crusoe), and one based on disappropriation, belief (poetry and mysticism). Literature may be redefined by means of an anthropology of beliefs.
