The importance of communication between entities of V2G system such as controller, aggregator, electric grid and electric vehicles (EVs) is emphasized in this paper. The motivation for research in V2G communication is discussed in detail. The literature on communication and control aspects of V2G system in a smart grid scenario is thoroughly reviewed in this paper in terms of various parameters like bit error rate, node voltage, timeouts and number of EVs. The challenges of V2G system are examined from infrastructure, financial and battery technology perspective.
